Black Cyberfeminism Speaker Series
with Dr. Kishonna Gray

May 30, 2022

The Digital Sociology Lab at Virginia Commonwealth University presents our first Black Cyberfeminism Speaker Series with Dr. Kishonna Gray, Associate Professor in Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies at University of Kentucky.

In this discussion led by Digital Sociology Lab fellow, Ka'lyn Coghill, we talk about Dr. Gray's book, Intersectional Tech: Black Users in Digital Gaming, as well as gaming culture. We dive deep into Dr. Gray's scholarship which focuses on the impact that technology has on culture and how Black users, in particular, influence the creation of technological products and the dissemination of digital artifacts. We also kicked off the event with exciting announcements and now past events the lab has hosted over the summer.
